Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko ready to push for transfer with PSG monitoring the situation

Tiemoue Bakayoko is ready to push through a move away from Chelsea before the European transfer deadline.

Reports in France this morning suggest Blues director Marina Granovskaia has blocked a loan over back to Monaco due to concerns it could damage the valuation of a player they signed for £40million in 2017.

Bakayoko spent last season on loan at AC Milan, who opted not to take up an option to buy the midfielder, but Chelsea are still hopeful of recouping the vast majority of their initial outlay.

The Blues would prefer a permanent deal this month – the French window shuts on September 2 – with Paris Saint-Germain also monitoring the situation but they are willing to consider a loan move as a last resort.

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has not included Bakayoko in any of his three matchday squads to date and last week in referencing both the 25-year-old and Davide Zappacosta, who is set to join Roma on loan, he said: “They obviously haven’t both started this season for us or had minutes.

"Both have shown great application and not been a problem. The decision will be what’s best for use as a club and them individually.”
