Chelsea midfielder sends cryptic message over his future after Mateo Kovacic news

Mateo Kovacic is set to become a permanent Chelsea player this summer, which is going to leave some in the dark over their future.

One of those players is Tiemoue Bakayoko, who spent last season on loan with AC Milan.

The France international had a debut season to forget at Stamford Bridge, having signed from Monaco after winning Ligue 1 and getting to the Champions League semi-final.

The 24-year-old was then sent to Italy to spend the 2018/19 Serie A campaign at the San Siro, and after a rocky start he developed into one of Gennaro Gattuso's best players throughout the season.

However, Bakayoko wants back in at Chelsea, with Maurizio Sarri having left, but the Kovacic deal might have killed off his chances of getting a regular place under Frank Lampard.

The Frenchman took to social media, just hours after the news about Kovacic, to show himself working out and getting ready for the new season.

Bakayoko captioned it with 'Ready' and then three emojis, with two of them being clocks to show that he is counting down for the new campaign.

There is no clear path for where Bakayoko might fit into the squad next season, with Jorginho, N'Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic and Mason Mount all fighting for a place in the team.
