Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek confident his injury nightmare is finally behind him

Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek believes his injury nightmare could finally be behind him.

Loftus-Cheek has struggled for fitness over the past few years but he has broken back into the Chelsea team again under Thomas Tuchel.

The 25-year-old started his first Champions League game in six years in Sweden on Tuesday, as the Blues beat Malmo, and he impressed during the 1-0 win.

Loftus-Cheek is relishing being back in Tuchel’s plans and says he is feeling fit and fresh.

“I feel good physically and mentally I’ve left my injury behind,” he said.

“It doesn’t even come into my head now. I’m playing freely and I can concentrate on football and football only so I’m in a good place.

“I’ll try to keep developing. I’m grateful for the time on the pitch that I have and I’ll just keep giving my best.”

Chelsea are next in action when they host Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
