Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel hints at Liverpool and Real Madrid wish

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has suggested he'd rather face Real Madrid than Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals.

The London side progressed in the competition after a 2-1 aggregate win over Porto. An extraordinary overhead kick from Mehdi Taremi was enough for the Portguese giants to secure a 1-0 win on Tuesday night but Chelsea held on to a 2-1 aggregate lead to progress.

They will now meet either Real Madrid or Liverpool in the semi-final but the Reds must overturn a 3-1 deficit if they are to make it through.

And, asked whether he'd rather avoid Jurgen Klopp's side in the last four, Chelsea boss Tuchel said: “I don't wish for anything but in general.

"I like it in the Champions League not to play against teams from your own league because it gives it a bit more the feeling of European competition, but that's the only thing.

“Whoever deserves it, I think the game is far from over but I will watch it for sure and it's a pleasure to watch it as a semi-finalist.

“Like i said it's a great achievement and tomorrow we will watch these games.

"I think that nothing is decided yet and everything is possible, Liverpool is very strong at home, let's see, the Premier League is strong, so we take what we get, it's a good situation for us.”
