Chelsea are reportedly lining up their first offer to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
The Norway striker, who has an apparent £70million release clause in his Dortmund contract that comes into action next summer, is wanted by the champions of Europe in the coming months.
Haaland scored a phenomenal 48 goals in 51 games for club and country last season and the Blues are desperate to add him to their ranks.
The Dortmund star is one of the most sought-after centre-forwards in world football, with a number of top European clubs reportedly interested in his services.
However, Chelsea want to avoid the competition that could arise next summer and make an early swoop for the 20-year-old.
According to the Mirror, Marina Granovskaia and Thomas Tuchel are lining up a 'monster bid' that includes out-of-favour forward Tammy Abraham.
Abraham, who finished as joint-top scorer for the Blues last season in all competitions, featured just seven times under Tuchel since the German coach took over from Frank Lampard in January.
Chelsea value Abraham at around £50m, but Dortmund do not believe that is a realistic figure considering the lack of play time he was handed in the latter stages of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Bundesliga giants are also very reluctant to let Haaland leave Signal Iduna Park this summer, especially following Jadon Sancho's imminent move to Manchester United.
Sancho underwent his medical on Tuesday and is expected to sign a long-term contract with United.
Dortmund have reiterated time and time again their determination to keep the Norwegian forward at the club, but Chelsea are doing their best to lure them with Abraham involved in the deal as well.
This news comes under 36 hours after Sky Sports reported that the Blues are facing 'mission impossible' this summer in their continued attempts to bring Haaland to Stamford Bridge.
The source said: "Chelsea are trying but it is going to be very difficult. At the moment, it looks like mission impossible.
"It is unlikely but that does not mean it cannot happen."
