Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is set to be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge which will extend his stay beyond 2023.
The French World Cup star has two years remaining on his current deal with the club so there is no immediate pressure to rush through an agreement.
However, such is his value to Thomas Tuchel's team, the club will be desperate to see Kante commit his long-term future to the Blues.
According to Italian football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Kante will be offered a new deal by Chelsea in the coming months but there is "no rush" due to the relationship between the two parties.
Kante was the subject of transfer interest last summer, Romano reports, but the midfielder had no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge and a new deal is seen as reward for his loyalty to the club.
"Chelsea will offer N’Golo Kanté a new contract, planning to open negotiations in the next months - “no rush” as the relationship with N’Golo is great," Romano wrote on social media.
"He wanted to stay last summer after some ‘complicated’ weeks and two bids received, Chelsea want to reward Kanté."
Signed from Leicester City in 2016, the French midfielder has been a virtual ever-present for the Blues under a number of different managers.
Antonio Conte was the first Blue boss to have Kante at his disposal and the 30-year-old has thrived under all four of his Chelsea managers.
Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard and now Tuchel have had the pleasure of calling upon Kante and the 30-year-old was pivotal as Chelsea lifted their second UEFA Champions League crown.
Kante revealed ahead of Euro 2020 that he sees his future at Stamford Bridge and has no desire to leave the club.
"I have been at Chelsea for 5 years, I have enjoyed wonderful seasons. I hope to experience many others.
"It [his contract] is not something that I am focusing on. I have another two years of contract with Chelsea and I feel good."
