Chelsea make Erling Haaland transfer decision as Adama Traore drops hint on his future

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Wednesday, June 23.

Chelsea find Haaland alternative

Chelsea continue to be linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland as Thomas Tuchel attempts to strengthen his attack.

A deal looks increasingly more difficult each day though with the German giants thought to be demanding up to £175m for the striker’s signature.

As a result, the Blues have made the decision to look elsewhere with one of the contenders being Villarreal hitman Gerard Moreno.

Traore drops transfer clue

Elsewhere, another transfer alternative has already talked down a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Adama Traore has been identified as a cheaper option at right wing-back than Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi. However, the Wolves man has already spoken of his intentions to return to former club Barcelona.

Speaking in an interview with RAC1, he said: “Barcelona is my home. It’s the reality. I grew up since I was 10. From here, we will have to manage with my agents and see what role Barcelona wants.”

Norwich eye Gilmour

Finally, Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has been linked with a surprise exit from Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to the Eastern Daily Press, newly-promoted Norwich City are interested in taking the Scot to Carrow Road on a temporary basis.

The midfielder is currently sidelined having tested positive for Covid-19 whilst on Euro 2020 duty with his country.
