Chelsea make decision on 11 players - and it could earn them huge £180million windfall

Chelsea are preparing to offload as many as eleven players this summer and could have a £180million kitty to play with as a result.

Thomas Tuchel's men are looking to build on their Champions League victory against Manchester City by putting forward a serious title challenge next season in the Premier League.

A striker looks to be in the number one priority after Timo Werner's disappointing debut season at Stamford Bridge with Tammy Abraham surplus to requirements.

Chelsea have been linked with Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland but face stiff competition from City, Manchester United and a whole host of European clubs.

All those sides are circling around Harry Kane too after he expressed his desire to leave Tottenham.

Romelu Lukaku is another name on the shortlist as Inter Milan's financial troubles continue and owner Roman Abramovich is said to be keen on a reunion with the Belgian talisman who enjoyed a 30-goal season in Serie A with Antonio Conte's title-winning side.

Those players won't come on the cheap, however, and selling players is a good way to earn some extra cash to facilitate any potential deal.

And according to the Daily Mail, as many as eight players could be sold this summer, while Olivier Giroud is expected to leave on a free transfer, with Billy Gilmour and Conor Gallagher going out on loan.

The report claims that the Blues are willing to part ways with Abraham, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Davide Zappacosta, Emerson Palmieri, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fikayo Tomori and Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic is a surprise inclusion on that list with an impressive end to the season, but the rest are fringe players that have struggled to nail down a starting spot during their time at the club.

So how much could Chelsea earn if they were to offload the eight players reportedly on the chopping block?

If it's anywhere near their market value, it could be upwards of £180m.

Pulisic is valued at £45m by Transfermarkt , with Abraham is said to be worth £36m, while Barkley (£18m), Loftus-Cheek (£18m), Zappacosta (£7.2m), Emerson (£10.8m) and Bakayoko (£22.5m) could raise a combined £157.5m.

And that does not take into account the £24.1m option to buy AC Milan can exercise in the Fikayo Tomori deal, which takes the figure up to £181.6m.

With Haaland, Kane and Lukaku, the big question is who can afford those players this summer with all three likely costing north of £100m.

And it seems Chelsea certainly fit into that category as they could feasibly get the money together by trimming their squad in the upcoming transfer window.
