Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United fans react after Harry Kane's Tottenham transfer announcement

Harry Kane is staying at Tottenham Hotspur for the 2021/22 season.

This news has not only garnered a big response from Spurs supporters, but those following Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United as this development could have a major impact on the Premier League title race.

As previously reported by football.london, Kane has now accepted that he will stay in north London this summer having been linked with a move to Manchester City.

The striker is believed to have been keen on a fresh challenge and the chance to link up with Pep Guardiola which would have provided him with a chance to end his wait for a piece of silverware.

However, the reigning Premier League champions simply haven't tested Spurs' resolve.

So far City's only bid is believed to be in the region of £75m plus £25m in add-ons and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has not been shaken from his intention to keep the north London's club's second-highest goalscorer of all time.

As a result, Tottenham were confident of keeping hold of Kane in the remaining days of the summer transfer window - and the striker has since confirmed he will be putting on Spurs shirt once he returns from the international break.

"I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success," he tweeted.

So with Man City facing the prospect of another season without a recognised centre-forward - especially after Sergio Aguero's departure - there's a feeling that the title race is wide open.

Take a look at what some Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United fans have been saying on Twitter...

@PaulSmith83 said: "Kane announces that he is staying at Spurs. I’d say Chelsea are nailed on for the title now, Ronaldo to Man City doesn’t worry me anywhere near as much as Kane to City did."

@_ShuBhamCFC said: "I am not boasting anything or being any overconfident but Manchester City not signing Harry Kane makes our chances of winning and challenging for the title 5x more now.

"It's as big as us signing Lukaku. Their loss is our gain."
