Chelsea legend posts cryptic Cristiano Ronaldo transfer clue amid Manchester United absence

Cristiano Ronaldo to Chelsea is certainly a transfer that is gaining plenty of traction and a certain Blues legend has added fuel to the fire on things that may be going on behind the scene in relation to this specific deal.

In their hunt for attacking reinforcements and following the latest and what looks like being terminal blows in the current World Champions' pursuits of Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha respectively, new owner Todd Boehly has turned his attentions seemingly to two of the biggest stars currently in the game. Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are two players in a crossroads stage of their own careers for separate reasons. CR7 is wanting to continue his 19-season love affair with the Champions League and make it 20 consecutive involvements in a row. Something he cannot do with current club Man United who finished in the Europa League places under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick last season.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian international is seemingly not wanted anymore by Paris Saint-Germain who themselves want to make a fresh start following an in-depth review of the club has led to much change off the pitch already this summer with both Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos coming in at the expense Mauricio Pochettino and Leonardo. Whether one or even both end up at different clubs come September 1 remains to be seen but Chelsea's current struggles in this summer's transfer window is making the prospect of seeing one of these 'Galacticos' in Blue next season more of a realistic dream.

Currently, on the 37-year-old, various outlets have reported that the West London outfit are considering whether to make a move for Jorge Mendes' client this summer with United's iconic number 7 himself reportedly 'open' to the move on his end.

Ronaldo, who is currently absent for a second day from Man Utd pre-season due to 'family reasons',as per The Athletic, was spotted at the Portuguese National Teams' training base in Lisbon on Monday, only fuelling speculation that an exit from Old Trafford is probable- will that be to Chelsea though?

Manager Thomas Tuchel, although having a clear admiration for the Portuguese legend, is 'unclear' whether or not the six-time Ballon d'Or winner fits his plans. With Boehly and Clearlake Capital consortium partner Behdad Eghbali only wanting to sign the German's targets, a green light will be needed on his end before any real concrete progress is to be made.

Maybe a certain Chelsea icon can convince him to open up a little more to this prospect. Didier Drogba, at such a coincidental time, has dropped a major transfer clue which has been put out at the same type that all this speculation has ramped up.

On his Instagram account, @didierdrogba, the Ivorian has re-posted a post by @euro2024 showing both Drogba and Ronaldo embracing each other after their two nations drew 0-0 in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Does he know something we don't or is this just a coincidence? Leave your thoughts down in the comments section below Chelsea fans.
