Chelsea legend John Terry has reacted to the news that Manchester United have axed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from his managerial position.
Solskjaer 's tenure became untenable following a woeful performance in a 4-1 defeat to Watford, who started the game just a single point above the Premier League's relegation zone.
That loss, which followed on from a 5-0 defeat against Liverpool at Old Trafford and a defeat to Manchester City, left the club with no other choice.
The world of football has since been reacting to the news ever since and former Chelsea captain Terry spoke at the Qatar Grand Prix.
"I think when you are United like Ole was, it'll be difficult to take and it will hurt him for sure," he told Sky Sports News.
"It's a results business, we all know that going into it. It's really sad that it's happened but, unfortunately, it's part and parcel of this job.
"Ole is Man U through and through, when you see yesterday him walking off and apologising to the supporters as well, it's not a good place to be. In a way, he'll probably be half relieved to be away from it."
Michael Carrick will take charge for the forthcoming matches as the club seek to find a interim manager until the end of the season.
United travel to face Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday, with that clash followed by Premier League fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal.
As it stands, United are six points adrift in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League as they seek to secure Champions League football again next season.
