Chelsea legend Didier Drogba signs Arsenal shirt after falling for fan's cheeky trick

Chelsea hero Didier Drogba has been tricked into signing an Arsenal shirt by a young fan.

The forward spent eight seasons with the Blues and initially left as a club legend with his final kick delivering the Champions League in 2012. He returned for a second spell as he reunited with Jose Mourinho in 2014, winning another league title which has seen him etched into the club's history.

Chelsea's rivalry with Arsenal has stood for decades and signing the shirt of a differing club would not go down well. A young fan asked Drogba to sign a Blues shirt before taking it off and showing that he had a Gunners strip on underneath, with the pen going through on both tops.

Drogba reeled away in shock before laughing and saying: "Oh my god! How can you do that?" The Ivorian scored against the north Londoners 13 times in 15 games, earning himself a reputation as one of the forwards who often produced in big games.

The retired star has said previously: "As a young kid growing up in France, the team everyone was supporting was Arsenal because of Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Arsene Wenger.

"I was a fan at the team and then coming to England and playing against my idols was a challenge. So I did everything to play well against them and then Arsene Wenger would say he's not doing much in the games, so it became another challenge."

Wenger has confessed he would've relished the opportunity to work with the Ivorian forward having eyed him when he was playing in Ligue 1. "I would have loved to have managed Didier Drogba for two reasons," the former Arsenal boss told Huawei.

“I missed him when he played in France at Le Mans – not even in the top league. I knew he was good player there and I missed him and secondly because he hurt us so much in big games that all this pain would not have happened.”

Drogba, during his time in England, claimed the Golden Boot in 2007 and 2010, eventually finishing up his Premier League career with 157 goals. He also won several domestic cups, including the 2007 League Cup, which was won against Arsenal.

The Ivorian scored both goals in that final, heading home the winner in the final ten minutes. Drogba also scored in all four of the FA Cup finals he won, starting with a winner over Manchester United in the 2007 final, which was the first at the new Wembley.
