Chelsea learn Saul Niguez transfer latest as Marina Granovskaia double deal hangs in the balance

Chelsea's pursuit of Saul Niguez looked to be all but over, with a loan deal for the Atletico Madrid midfielder appearing unlikely.

The Blues are interested in the Spain international, with a loan move being touted, but a deal appears unlikely, with the La Liga champions unable to get a replacement in time.

The west London club are only keen on signing the midfielder on a temporary deal if there's an option to make the move permanent next summer.

And, according to the Telegraph, there is still slight hope from Chelsea's point of view in signing the 26-year-old.

Reporter Matt Law says that "all parties have not given up" on the deal being completed before the transfer window concludes later this evening.

As we know on transfer deadline day, especially, things can change very quickly, with U-turns prominent as the clock ticks towards the deadline.

As well as this, The Athletic are reporting that Chelsea are 'actively working on a deal to sign Saul'.

Meanwhile, at Stamford Bridge, a move for Jules Kounde is hanging in the balance, football.london understands, with Sevilla recently increasing their asking price to close to £60million for the France defender.

There still could be some outgoings from west London as well, but Callum Hudson-Odoi will not be one of them, with the England international now set to stay at the Blues.

football.london reported yesterday that Leicester City had approached Chelsea about making a move for Hudson-Odoi, with Borussia Dortmund also keen on a loan deal for the wide man, but the Blues are not willing to sanction his departure.

But, with time running out in the window, the Chelsea star looks set to remain at the club for the time being.
