Chelsea launches new sports nutrition app called Blue Fuel

Chelsea football club has launched a sports nutrition app that draws up meal plans using supplements, energy boosters and bars trialled by its Premier League stars.

The app, called Blue Fuel, is the first is what is expected to be a series of commercial spin outs from its new Chelsea Digital Ventures arm.

It was developed with Stamford Bridge nutritionists and experts and was tested on the first men’s team, older academy players, and women’s teams.

It has more than 250 recipes and meal plans based on a range of hydration sachets, recovery and rebuild powders, energy gummies, and protein bars.

Blue Fuel spokesman, Lee Bell,said: “Trialled on some of the best athletes, the unique product range has been specially-designed to hit the main need states that are crucial in all sports to help athletes achieve their ultimate fitness goals and be the best possible version of themselves."

It was developed with the nutritionists and experts that work with the Premiership team daily to help other sports people realise their best potential."

Subscriptions to the app, which gives tailored advice on drawing up meal plan, start from around £25 a month.
