He may be an Italy international and one of Chelsea’s most important players – but it would appear that the club’s kitman hasn’t quite learned how to spell Jorginho’s name yet.
The 27-year-old midfielder was selected to start Chelsea’s Super Cup match against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
He started at the base of central midfield with the returning N’Golo Kane on the right in a Maurizio Sarri-esque 4-3-3 – but eagle-eyed Chelsea supporters quickly noticed that something was wrong.
The midfielder was wearing his usual No.5 shirt only for his name to be spelt incorrectly.
Instead, Jorginho’s name was spelt ‘JORGHINO’.

The mistake did not appear to impact on his performance in anyway, however, as Chelsea made a bright start to the first-half.
They survived an early Liverpool appeal for a penalty before Pedro rattled the woodwork with a vicious strike.
