Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Thursday, June 10.
Chelsea 'insistent on Harry Kane'
Tottenham may be desperate to keep Kane at the club, but that isn’t going to stop potential suitors from trying to sign him.
Soon-to-be appointed director of football Fabio Paratici already has a list of jobs on his hands, and in addition to choosing a new manager for the club, the Italian has been tasked with making sure that Spurs keep their talismanic forward for at least one more year.
That is according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who also claims that Chelsea are 'very insistent' on signing the striker, and are even prioritising him over Borussia Dortmund star, Erling Haaland.
Tottenham among clubs punished over European Super League involvement
Nearly three months on from the initial press release that announced the formation of the competition, the Premier League has issued their punishment for clubs involved in the ESL.
The Premier League announced that each of the six English clubs involved must pay just over £20million between them to draw a line under their ensuing row. That equates to roughly £3.5m per club.
As a gesture of goodwill, the clubs have collectively agreed to make a contribution of £22m, which will go towards the good of the game, including new investment in support for fans, grassroots football and community programmes. Heftier fines and 30-point deductions will be ordered to any of those clubs if they agree to any similar transgression in the future.
Kane sent message to join Manchester United over Manchester City and Chelsea
Kane has been urged to join Manchester United instead of Manchester City this summer if he chooses to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
John Barnes has suggested that City would not be the best choice due to the number of world-class superstars that they already have at their disposal at the Etihad Stadium and instead encouraged Kane to make the switch to Old Trafford.
Speaking to BettingOdds.com , Barnes said: “Harry Kane has been able to do what he’s done because he’s been playing for Tottenham, because at Spurs, Harry is the number one player, he’s the talisman who creates and scores goals for them."
