Eden Hazard has been ruled out of Chelsea's Europa League tie with PAOK after sustaining a minor ankle injury in the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday.
Despite the Belgian stating he would be 'back soon' in the aftermath of the game, he will play no part in the clash at Stamford Bridge this Thursday.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Maurizio Sarri said Hazard was suffering from various of niggles.
“I am worried because 25 days ago he had an injury, a back injury. Now the ankle. So I think that he has lost a lot of training.
"So it's normal he wouldn't be top of his physical condition. One week of training and a couple of matches and he'll be back at the best level of physical condition.
"I think that this week is useful for him in training. Then we will see. Of course I think that he cannot play 10 matches in 29/30 days (the schedule that is facing Chelsea in December), so sometimes he has to rest.”
Meanwhile, Ethan Ampadu remains sidelined after picking up an injury on Wales duty earlier in November.
Mateo Kovacic, though, has recovered from an injury picked up during the international break. The Croatia star started Chelsea's loss at Wembley on Saturday as Maurizio Sarri named him alongside Jorginho and N'Golo Kante.
