Chelsea injury news ahead of Watford: Latest on N'Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell and Mateo Kovacic

Chelsea were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday evening.

With Liverpool and Manchester City both winning, Thomas Tuchel would have been desperate for three points, but they were unable to beat United at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues now face a huge week with back-to-back away matches in the Premier League, with Watford on Wednesday evening and then West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

With these two games coming thick and fast, Tuchel could potentially be without three players for the matches - and, with that being said, football.london rounds up the latest Chelsea injury news.

N'Golo Kante

N'Golo Kante missed the match with Manchester United on Sunday after suffering a knee injury in last week's Champions League victory over Juventus.

The Frenchman left the pitch shortly before half-time with a knee injury and was replaced by Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tuchel opened up on the problem after the match.

What Tuchel said: "N'Golo twisted his knee a little bit against Juventus and feels better but it seems he will be out for some days. We still have a little hope but it's almost a miracle if he makes it [for United]."

Expected return date: To be confirmed

Ben Chilwell

With Chelsea 3-0 up and cruising against Juventus last week, Ben Chilwell also followed Kante into the dressing room. He had to be helped off the pitch by medical staff after a collision near the centre circle.

Immediately after the incident, the England left-back looked to be in some pain and Tuchel confirmed that Chilwell had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, but was cautious to put a return date on the situation.

What Tuchel said: "Ben is out, he has a partial injury of his ACL, and the decision is to treat it conservatively. The next six weeks will tell the story if he makes it and be available or if he will need surgery."

Expected return date: Late December/New Year

Mateo Kovacic

Mateo Kovacic was left out of the side to play Juventus last week and it does not look like the Croatia international will be back on the pitch anytime soon due to a hamstring problem.

What Tuchel said: "(Before the trip to Leicester earlier this month) Mateo will take more days until he is ready to join team training. He will miss some more matches."

Expected return date: N/A
