With the January transfer window now officially open, clubs across the capital are looking to strengthen their respective squads for the second-half of the season.

Chelsea made three first-team signings during the summer transfer window following Maurizio Sarri's arrival but failed to find a solution to their biggest problem; their shortcomings up front.

The January window provides them with another opportunity to resolve that.

The club have also acted quickly to wrap up a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, who will arrive in London this summer.

Simon Johnson explains what other business we can expect from Stamford Bridge over the coming weeks for Standard Sport.

Sarri is hoping to sign a striker, with Gonzalo Higuain, Callum Wilson and Jamie Vardy targets.

Due to injuries, the Blues manager wants to add an attacking wide player, too. But he will have to wait until the summer for Pulisic so could make a move for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.

Potential departures include Alvaro Morata, Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses.
