Chelsea hit by midfield transfer blow as Ethan Ampadu's future assessed after RB Leipzig loan

Juventus set to offer winger in deal for Jorginho

Juventus will offer Chelsea winger Federico Bernardeschi as part of a deal to sign Jorginho, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Former Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is believed to be keen to bring the Italy international to Turin.

Jorginho has become a key player at Stamford Bridge having signed from Napoli in 2018.

But Juventus may look to tempt Chelsea into a deal by including Bernardeschi, who could act as a replacement for Willian and Pedro, both of whom are set to leave in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether the Bianconeri will be willing to pay a fee - expected to be around £30m - as well as offering Bernardeschi.

The Chelsea youngsters who could become future stars

Chelsea have a number of talented young players capable of making the step up to the first team in the coming years.

Frank Lampard will, no doubt, be keeping an eye on those making strides in the youth setup.

There are a number of young players currently out on loan, too.

Football.london had a look at five who could have a bright future at the club, including Ethan Ampadu and Trevoh Chalobah.

UEFA release statement on plans for resuming season

UEFA have confirmed that their aim is to finish domestic and cup competitions across Europe as the coronavirus crisis continues.

Football across the continent has been postponed and as yet there is no plan in place to restart.

In a statement, the European governing body confirmed that a decision would not be made until after a meeting of the Executive Committee on Thursday.

"UEFA today met its 55 member associations via video conference and presented an update of the options being looked into by the two working groups that were created mid-March," the statement read.

"A variety of calendar options were presented covering both national team and club competition matches.

"The funding of National Associations through UEFA’s HatTrick programme was also discussed with UEFA reiterating its commitment to meeting the payments to member associations as planned.

"There was a strong recommendation given to finish domestic top division and cup competitions, but some special cases will be heard once guidelines concerning participation to European competitions - in case of a cancelled league - have been developed.

"Any decisions on the above topics would be announced after the UEFA Executive Committee on Thursday."
