Chelsea hero Didier Drogba sends classy message to Petr Cech ahead of Arsenal exit

Chelsea's victory in the Europa League final against London rivals Arsenal inflicting pain on a Blues hero, as Petr Cech was unable to end his career on a high.

Maurizio Sarri's side swept aside the Gunners in Baku, securing a 4-1 win, in a game that was Cech's last before retirement - and an expected return to Stamford Bridge to take the role of Sporting Director.

Despite his allegiances to Chelsea, where he won numerous Premier League titles and the Champions League before moving across the capital, Cech was determined to clinch Europa League glory for the Gunners - which would have been a fitting end to a trophy-laden career.

However, Eden Hazard ran riot against his former teammate in his own goodbye to the Premier League and a Cech was forced to end his career on a sour note.

That resulted in a very classy message from another Chelsea icon, Didier Drogba, as the Ivorian penned a heartfelt note to his former colleague.

"Most successful goalkeeper in the Premier League and I'm pretty sure it will take long, so long before someone else beats his clean sheet record," the post read.

"It breaks my heart to see you in tears, I know how much you wanted to win this one to finish your career on a high.

"Merci my hero, love you."

Cech ends his career with 202 Premier League clean sheets, five FA Cups, Four Premier League's, the Champions League and the Europa League - the majority of which came during his time at Stamford Bridge.
