Chelsea have 'no problem' with fee for Sporting Lisbon star but face Matthijs De Ligt battle

Chelsea may be falling behind their Premier League rivals in terms of incomings this summer but it is not for the want of trying to bring in new faces

And Thomas Tuchel and co remain confident of landing exactly who they need to boost the squad for next season. Chelsea's only transfer activity so far has seen players leaving but they are working on multiple fronts to sign players.

And with money to spend, it is unlikely to be long before frustrated Blues fans start seeing players coming in. Mirror Sport has rounded up all the latest Chelsea transfer news and rumours.

Sporting star eyed

Matheus Nunes is the latest name to be linked with Chelsea - after failing to agree a move to Wolves.

The highly-rated Sporting Lisbon midfielder is valued at £43m and Portuguese newspaper Abola says Chelsea have no problem paying that.

It is even suggested he could seal a move by the end of the week with Sporting keen to use the money on other targets.

Alonso transfer request

Chelsea can't afford to lose any more defenders without replacing them, but face a few issues keeping hold of Marcos Alonso. The Spain full back is aware the club have listened to offers for him in more than one transfer window.

And now, it's claimed by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo he may even be willing to hand in a formal transfer request to force a move to Barcelona.

Rivals for De Ligt

Chelsea have made little progress in their attempts to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus - and could now face missing out to Bayern Munich.

The German giants have made a late bid to nab the Dutchman, who is keen to sign for them according to German website SPORT!.

That would be bad news for Chelsea, who pivoted away from a move for Jules Kounde to focus on De Ligt.
