Chelsea have found their new Eden Hazard in the most unlikely of places

Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell has found a rich vein of goalscoring form on the left and has broken a record last set by Eden Hazard.

The Blues were rampant on Saturday in the early kick off against Norwich City, scoring seven goals in their biggest win in nine-years.

Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James all scored before half-time to put Thomas Tuchel’s side into the driving seat.

The scoring continued after the break as Chilwell and Max Aarons’ own-goal extended the lead to five before a sending off for Norwich’s Ben Gibson.

Mount then scored a quickfire double, the first a penalty before calmly slotting home into an empty net late on to complete his hat-trick.

Chilwell’s strike just inside the box was the fourth consecutive league match he has scored in, making him the first Chelsea player to do that since Hazard.

The left-wing-back’s form has seen him oust Marcus Alonso, who started the season on that side before the England international came in.

The goal was his third of the season in just three league appearances for the Blues, who could have had more in the game with the efforts he was creating in the final third.

If he can continue to replicate his goalscoring form, then Chilwell may be an unlikely player to fill the void left by Eden Hazard.

Some Chelsea fans were even saying that, with @GoshJiddey saying: "Chilwell is Hazard's replacement," and @alicfc2005 adding: "Who would've thought Chilwell would be our Hazard replacement."
