Chelsea have been told how much they will have to pay to complete shock Romelu Lukaku transfer

Chelsea will have to smash their transfer record and splash out a whopping £105million if they are to stand any chance of bringing Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge this summer.

That is according to a report by the Daily Mail, who claim that the Blues, who are poised to make signing a new striker their top priority this summer, will have to spend big to stand any chance of getting the Belgian back to west London.

Despite closing in on the Serie A title for the first time since 2010, Inter's squad could be forced to be dissected this summer as they are under growing serious financial troubles, meaning they could be forced to offload some of their most valuable assets, including Lukaku.

Currently, the Belgian, who joined Inter from Manchester United back in August 2019, has three years remaining on his contract with the Italian heavyweights, meaning Chelsea will have to spend big to stand any chance of bringing him back to west London in a surprise deal.

As outlined above, Chelsea are desperate to add a new striker to their ranks this summer after Timo Werner's disappointing first season in England, with Borussia Dortmund ace Erling Haaland understood to be at the very top of head coach Thomas Tuchel's wish list.

However, Haaland is the subject of interest from a collection of big-name clubs across Europe, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid. As well as that, he is likely to cost Chelsea even more than the £105million Inter would like for the services of Lukaku.

Although Lukaku did struggle to have any sort of meaningful impact in his first spell at Stamford Bridge, he did make a name for himself at West Bromwich Albion, Everton and, to a certain degree, Manchester United, highlighting that it would be seen as signing a player who knows what it takes to play in the Premier League.

This season, Lukaku has been in formidable form for Inter, netting 27 goals in 40 appearances.

Since joining the Serie A side almost two years ago, he has scored 61 times in 91 appearances, which, as the stats show, is a fantastic record.
