Chelsea handed triple injury boost ahead of Liverpool clash

Chelsea have received a triple injury boost ahead of their clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

Manager Frank Lampard, who has endured a difficult start to life with the London side, is concerned with the fitness of a number of players ahead of the Premier League clash.

N’Golo Kante has missed the last four games in all competitions due to an ankle injury while Emerson Palmieri has not featured since limping off in Italy’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Estonia.

However, both those players were back in training on Thursday at Chelsea's Cobham HQ.

Should they be passed fit, both would be likely to start against the Reds with Kante partnering Jorginho in midfield and Emerson replacing Marcos Alonso at left-back.

Meanwhile, Callum Hudson-Odoi said he feels "fit and ready" after recovering from an Achilles problem so could be in contention.

It was not all good news for Lampard, who is expected to give full injury updates on his players during a press conference this afternoon, though.

Mason Mount and Antonio Rudiger were missing from training following an ankle injury and groin problem respectively suffered in the loss against Valencia and win over Wolves.

Reece James (ankle) is unlikely to be considered with next week’s Carabao Cup tie against Grimsby his expected return date.

And, Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Achilles) is unlikely to be available until after the November international break.
