Chelsea have been given a potential boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace over the fitness of Mason Mount.
The 20-year-old midfielder was substituted in Chelsea's incredible 4-4 draw with Ajax in the Champions League in midweek after taking a knock to his right ankle.
He was replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi on the hour mark at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea head coach confirming after the game that he had had his ankle strapped and that the Blues were hopeful it was "relatively minor."
Lampard added that Mount would be assessed over the next few days ahead of the London derby with Palace on Saturday, but Mount was involved in training this morning (Thursday) as the Blues geared up towards the game.
The Times journalist Tom Roddy reported that Mount trained with Chelsea ahead of the game, and that he was set to have more physiotherapy this afternoon, ahead of a fitness test tomorrow (Friday) to determine if he could be involved against the Eagles.
Mount has scored four goals so far this season for Chelsea, and has been named in the latest England squad for the upcoming internationals against Kosovo and Montenegro, despite the injury concern.
The midfielder is one of five Chelsea players in the latest England squad, along with team-mates Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
