Chelsea injury latest ahead of Leeds United Premier League clash

Chelsea have received an injury boost ahead of this weekend’s clash with Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

According to Football London, Kai Havertz is set to be available for selection after overcoming recent injury troubles.

Havertz was forced off at half time in the Blues’ 3-2 defeat at West Ham United after a clash with former Chelsea teammate Kurt Zouma, however he has rapidly overcome his issue.

Meanwhile, midfielder Kovacic is also likely to make his return to Thomas Tuchel’s squad on Saturday after over a month out with a hamstring injury, though he will not feature for the Blues against FC Zenit tomorrow.

Kovacic picked up the problem in training at the October and has missed the Blues’ last eight matches in all competitions.

The Croatian international has been a big miss in recent matches after he had started the season in excellent form, scoring one goal and providing five assists in nine Premier League appearances.

Elsewhere for Chelsea, Ben Chilwell, N'Golo Kante, Trevoh Chalobah and Marcos Alonso are all set to be out of the game with Leeds.

Chilwell is in the early stages of his recovery from a serious knee injury he suffered against Juventus two weeks ago, while Tuchel is unsure when Kante will be back.

Chalobah and Alonso picked up respective thigh and back injuries in both of Chelsea’s last two matches, which could leave them short at the back.

Chelsea is set to be the first of four extremely tough fixtures on paper for Leeds, with matches against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool to follow.
