Armando Broja has agreed a new five-year contract with Chelsea, football.london understands, and is expected to sign his new deal on Monday.
The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Vitesse last season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions for the Dutch side that finished fourth in the Eredivisie.
Broja's current contract expires at the end of the 2021/22 campaign but Chelsea have been working hard to ensure his long-term future is at Stamford Bridge.
And despite the likes of fellow academy graduates Marc Guehi, Tino Livramento, Lewis Bate and Myles Peart-Harris all snubbing offers from the Blues over the last six months, football.london has been told Broja has agreed to fresh terms over a contract that ties him to Chelsea until 2026.
Broja returned to Cobham on Monday and is part of the first-team group that has been working under Tuchel throughout the week.
The forward is reportedly highly-rated by the German coach and could be incorporated into the first-team set-up with Tammy Abraham's future uncertain and Olivier Giroud now an AC Milan player.
Broja, who made his first-team debut against Everton in March 2020 under Frank Lampard, featured in today's pre-season win against Peterborough at Cobham.
Introduced at the half-time interval, the Albania international teed up Hakim Ziyech for his second goal of the 6-1 win before finding the back of the net himself.
Broja's decision to renew will be a boost for Chelsea given the uncertainty around so many of their standout academy graduates.
The futures of Livramento and Bate, two of the development squad's standout performers last term, remain in the balance. Both have rejected contract offers and are attracting interest from the Premier League and abroad.
Meanwhile, football.london understand Peart-Harris is expected to leave Chelsea in the coming days. The versatile attacking midfielder is out of contract next summer and has attracted strong interest from an English top-flight side.
Young defender Dynel Simeu is also set to move on. His contract expired last month but the Blues had offered him a new two-year deal. However, he is understood to have agreed a deal with a Premier League side.
