It’s top versus bottom in the Premier League’s early kick-off today, and though Chelsea haven’t hit their straps this season (in the league at least) and will be without star striker Romelu Lukaku, they will still be expecting to steamroll a Norwich outfit without a win in eight matches.
Thomas Tuchel’s side maintained their hold of top spot on the table last week thanks to Edouard Mendy’s heroics in the 1-0 win over Brentford. The Senegalese goalkeeper was a surprise omission from the 30-man shortlist for the upcoming Ballon d’Or award, and with his performance in the west London derby it was easy to see why so many fans were up in arms over the snub.
Tuchel will not want a repeat performance. He’ll hope that the 4-0 win over Swedish champions Malmo this week in the Champions League proves to be the spark that ignites Chelsea’s glut of superstars into a run of attacking and entertaining football.
