With City 11 points ahead of Thomas Tuchel’s side courtesy of their last-gasp win over Arsenal yesterday, catching the current champions looks unlikely but a loss for either side at Stamford Bridge would surely prove a hammer blow to any lingering title hopes.
Having played out an entertaining draw at Anfield earlier this season, it promises to be quite the occasion, though Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be absent due to a suspected positive Covid-19 test.
Assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders will lead the Reds in west London instead.
