Chelsea FC squad now ‘the envy of every Premier League team’ under Thomas Tuchel, says Pat Nevin

Chelsea's squad is now "the envy of every Premier League team", says former player Pat Nevin, after new manager Thomas Tuchel's start to his tenure.

The new manager is yet to taste defeat in 11 games since his appointment. In that time, Chelsea have conceded just two goals.

It was another professional display on Monday as top-four rivals Everton were brushed aside 2-0, with Kai Havertz producing his best display in a Chelsea shirt since arriving.

Nevin, who made around 200 appearances for Chelsea in the 1980s, is excited by Tuchel's impact since replacing Frank Lampard.

"There have been a few false starts and false dawns, but right now this seems like the start of something very special," he wrote in his column for the club's official website.

"If ever there was a test to prove the team’s level of improvement, this was it and they passed with flying colours.

"What it has given him is choice, a number of options that is the envy of every other team in the league."
