Chelsea fans will love what Timo Werner posted on Instagram amid Blues transfer links

The January transfer window is now open, meaning that the scramble to add players for the second half of the season can begin.

Unlike the summer, where they were serving a transfer ban, Chelsea will be one of the clubs likely to be involved buying players during the window as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his squad.

One player who has been linked with a January move is Red Bull Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

It may take a hefty fee to convince the German club to part with their player, but there are reports that the 23-year-old has a release clause that could be as low as £25.6 million.

Werner has caught the eye by scoring 23 goals in 24 appearances this season, and his adaptability of being able to play out wide as well as through the middle will appeal to Lampard.

The striker has also previously posted a video on his Instagram account that could hint that a move to Chelsea would appeal to him.

The clip shows the German attempting to take penalties in the style of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho during training with RB Salzburg back in May, the video is accompanied with the hashtag "#Jorginho", before he himself has a go at being a goalkeeper.

Werner is successful with one of the two penalties shown.

Should he join Chelsea during the summer, he will be able to refine his technique by getting tips from the Italian midfielder.
