Chelsea have discovered that they will face Portuguese giants FC Porto in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League next month.
The Blues, who return to FA Cup action when they face the Premier League's bottom club, Sheffield United, on Sunday afternoon, were one of eight clubs in the hat for the draw, alongside fellow Premier League heavyweights Liverpool and Manchester City.
Fortunately for Thomas Tuchel's side, they managed to avoid the prospect of an all-English showdown with either of those two, as well as staying clear of facing current Champions League holders Bayern Munich, who will lock horns with French outfit Paris Saint-Germain.
Instead, Chelsea will face Liga Nos outfit Porto, who progressed to the last-eight of the competition after getting the better of Juventus in the last-16.
Whilst there is no such thing as an easy game in European club football, especially at this stage of the competition, Chelsea will fancy their chances of getting the better of the Portuguese outfit and booking a semi-final date with either Liverpool or Real Madrid, after those two were drawn against each other in the next round.
But after toppling Atletico Madrid in the last-16, Chelsea are unlikely to be afraid of going toe-to-toe with anyone, with them proving to be defensively solid under Tuchel. Since the German replaced Frank Lampard at the end of January, the Blues have conceded just two goals in 13 games, highlighting just how difficult it is to get the better of them.
Whilst Porto will be no pushovers, Chelsea will be considered as favourites to seal a spot in the semi-finals for the first time in seven years.
Although the quarter-final tussle with Porto is still a few weeks away, it appears as though Brazilian defender Thiago Silva is already dreaming of taking the Blues all the way to the second Champions League title in their history.
Ahead of the draw being conducted at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, this morning, the UEFA Champions League Instagram account uploaded a picture of the trophy with the caption: "Which national will produce the next #UCL winner?
"Friday = Quarter-final draw @12:00 CET."
As expected, the Instagram post prompted no shortage of replies from fans of various of clubs.
But Silva also decided to reply to the post himself, dropping a subtle message with the 'eyes' emoji. Of course, it is impossible to predict what the Brazilian, who missed the win over Atletico on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, was meaning, but the general census could well be that he has aspirations of helping Chelsea go all the way and lift the ultimate prize in European football.
Silva, who is out-of-contract in west London this summer, came close to winning the trophy last season when on the books of Paris Saint-Germain.
The French outfit lost last season's final 1-0 to Bayern Munich, meaning Silva left the Ligue 1 club without having guided the club to a European title during his time as captain.
Now it seems that he has aspirations of leading Chelsea to the crown, although they face plenty more obstacles before they can even begin to think about that.
