Chris Wilder has praised Mason Mount for his flawless start to life in the Premier League.
The Sheffield United boss faced the Chelsea starlet in the Championship last season as the young playmaker led Frank Lampard's Derby County side to promotion.
Asked if Mount's success so fa this term is a surprise, Wilder said: “No surprise at all.
"If you look through Derby's season last year, he did fantastically well. They turned us over at their place, deservedly so.
"He was the heartbeat of everything they did and his absence from the team with injury coincided with their worst part of the season. His introduction back into the team led to their best part of the season.“
"An outstanding player. Two of their outstanding young players had fantastic experiences in the Championship last season.
"He was the outstanding player in the Championship for me.”
Of course the clash with Chelsea will be a huge challenge for the newly-promoted side and Chris Wilder has backed his side to give them a good game.
He said: "It's going to be tough but we want to be competitive.
"This is the reason why we've landed in the Premier League. It's a trip to the capital to face a historic team who finished in the top four last season.
"They've got a manager who will want to replicate his playing career as a manager now."
