Chelsea fans will love what Mason Mount said after scoring his first goal for the Blues

Mason Mount has described it as a "dream come true" after scoring his first goal for Chelsea on his home debut at Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old made his mark within seven minutes of his first appearance at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League for Chelsea , with Mount dispossessing Leicester's Wilfried Ndidi before finishing low past Kasper Schmeichel.

And Mount described the feeling of scoring on his first appearance in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful, after impressing on loan at Derby County last season when working with Frank Lampard.

“Obviously it is a dream come true for me to score my first goal on my home debut, so it means a lot for me," he said, speaking to BBC programme Match of the Day 2.

“When I saw the ball, I just tried to nick it off of him and I thought I was going to fall over, so it was just trying to stay on my feet and there was only one thing on my mind and that was to hit the back of the net.

“Obviously when I looked up and saw it, it was an unbelievable feeling.

“From six years old, you are dreaming that you are going to play and going to score, so it all happened on the same day for me, and I am over the moon.

“But overall, it is a disappointment [not to win the game]."

Meanwhile, his manager was full of praise for the midfielder, adding that it was pleasing to see him get on the scoresheet.

“I am delighted for Mason. His big strength is his quality and his ability to win the ball back," he said.

"At that point we were flying and he was driving it. I am delighted for him. He will be a bit disappointed now. I knew there would be moments like this.”
