Chelsea fans will love what Mason Mount said about his goal and his aims after win against Villa

Mason Mount admitted that Chelsea's players need to put themselves under more pressure to keep winning at home, after their 2-1 victory against Aston Villa this evening (Wednesday).

Mount scored the winning goal as the Blues claimed all three points at Stamford Bridge, with the England international firing home from a Tammy Abraham lay off to give Frank Lampard's men the victory.

It was his fifth goal for the Blues so far this season, and Mount said he was pleased with the strike - and the three points.

“I need to start maybe getting more tap-ins, but it fell perfectly for me. It worked and it came off, so I’m really happy with that," he said, speaking to Talksport after the game.

“For me, it was the perfect set and perfect height. You want to try and keep it away from the keeper. Heats [Tom Heaton] is a brilliant keeper and I was trying to keep it as far away from him as possible."

Chelsea came into the game off the back of two defeats in a row, with the Blues losing out against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium and then at home against West Ham United on Saturday.

And Mount admitted that the Blues needed a reaction against Aston Villa.

“There was more pressure on it and we spoke about that, we need to put more pressure on ourselves to perform," he said.

“We need to make this place a fortress, and this was a massive win for us."

Meanwhile, Mount said Chelsea need more of the same in the coming weeks ahead of a busy festive period, as the Blues look to try and maintain a place in the top four.

“For us young boys coming in it is a dream," he said.

"But we need to continue and stay focused and individual performances will be up and down, but we want to keep winning games for the fans and pushing to win trophies."
