Chelsea fans will love what Glenn Hoddle has said about the Blues

Chelsea were walking into a little bit of the unknown ahead of their Europa League clash at Eintracht Frankfurt but will arrive back in London buoyed by a strong performance.

Luka Jovic finished off a fine cross from the left to open the scoring for the hosts but Chelsea composed themselves and managed to land an all-important away goal to level the tie.

Pedro provided the strike for the equalising goal as Chelsea hit back and took the clear advantage into the second leg. This now leaves Chelsea knowing that even a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge next Thursday would put them through to the final.

One person who was very much encouraged by the display ahead of the second leg is former Chelsea star Glenn Hoddle, with the ex-England manager hailing the performance.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: How likely is an all-English Europa League final?

"They were poor in the first half but credit to them in the second half. They kept the ball and it was a reversal. Frankfurt couldn't get the ball in the second half and Chelsea could have had more goals," Hoddle told BT Sport.

"I thought a draw would have been a good result in that stadium against a side who are doing very well at home. The way Chelsea played in the second half will have surprised Frankfurt.

"They had no answers in the second half for Chelsea which was interesting. Frankfurt were poor and they couldn't get the ball off of Chelsea. I think that is a really good result to take back to Stamford Bridge. If anyone was going to score the second, it was Chelsea."
