Chelsea fans will love what Gary Lineker has said about Frank Lampard's return to the Blues

England legend Gary Lineker has backed Frank Lampard to be a success at Chelsea after the Blues legend returned to the club as the new head coach.

The 41-year-old has signed a three-year deal to succeed Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge, after the Italian left west London last month to join Juventus.

The return of the Blues' record goalscorer has been met with delight by many Chelsea fans , while several pundits have spoken out in support of the decision.

However, there have been some questions over Lampard's experience, having only had one season in management with Derby County in the Championship last season.

Lampard did lead the Rams to the Championship play-off final after Derby finished the season in sixth place, but they fell at the final hurdle in their bid for promotion as Aston Villa won 2-1 at Wembley to earn their place in the Premier League.

But former Tottenham and England striker Gary Lineker, who now hosts Match of the Day on the BBC, has delivered his verdict on Lampard's appointment, and suggested that the former Chelsea and West Ham midfielder has what it takes to be a success in management at the top level.

Writing on social networking website Twitter, Gary Lineker said: "Congratulations to Frank Lampard with his appointment at @ChelseaFC. Lack of experience won’t be an issue. If you’ve got it, you’ve got it, and I suspect Frank has it. Wish him well."
