Chelsea fans will love what Eden Hazard said about Thibaut Courtois' howler for Belgium

It has not been a good week at all for Thibaut Courtois.

Dropped from the Real Madrid starting XI last weekend following Zinedine Zidane's return as manager, the ex-Chelsea goalkeeper then dropped an almighty clanger on international duty for Belgium on Thursday evening.

The perfect opportunity to get back on the pitch and impress his new manager, Courtois hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Leading 1-0 courtesy of an early goal from Leicester City's Youri Tielemans, Russia then equalised shortly after in their opening EURO 2020 qualifier.

The goal could have been easily avoided had Courtois not taken his time on the ball and just got rid of it.

However, he dawdled and passed straight to Denis Cheryshev, who made no mistake as he found the empty net to level the scores.

Thankfully his mistake didn't cost the Red Devils as a brace from former Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard sealed a 3-1 win.

Speaking to RTBF after the game, Hazard mocked Courtois for his error and joked that he had been watching too many clips of himself in action for Chelsea and Belgium.

"I think he’s looking at too many videos of me, he’s trying to dribble like me!

"But it’s not the same thing as he’s a bit taller, it’s a little more complicated. It will spend a little time on the internet and make a buzz!"
