Callum Hudson-Odoi made his long-awaited return to the Chelsea first team last night in the 7-1 win over Grimsby Town.
The 18-year-old suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon back in April, and having had a few appearances for the U23s, he was back playing 90 minutes for the first team.
The winger had several chances in the match, going one on one with Mariners keeper James McKeown, but struggling to find his way past the shotstopper.
However, he did manage to find the back of the net for the seventh goal, which came right at the end of the game.
And Chelsea fans will love what Hudson-Odoi did when he scored.
When a lot of players score a goal in a rout, there isn't much of a celebration from them, as it is a run-of-the-mill victory.
However, Chelsea supporters could see how much the goal meant to him as he leaped into the air and punched his fist to celebrate.
You could see the passion and the relief for a youngster who has had to sit on the sidelines for around six months.
Having signed a new £120,000-per-week, five year deal, Chelsea fans are expecting to see Hudson-Odoi as a regular feature in the starting XI.
However, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has made it clear that he still has some improving to go.
"In terms of his performance, I thought first half not so sure [that he played well]," Lampard said.
"I thought him and Christian [Pulisic] as wingers, the message was to hurt the line and run behind and get into the box to take people on.
"It wasn’t happening and that message didn’t get across. It was reinforced pretty strongly and in the second half he managed to get into better positions.
"Callum’s talent means that he absolutely work hard to run behind people, to get at people, to be inside, be outside and work off the ball, all those things.
"Where he needs to learn because if he wants to play week in and week out that is what he is going to have to do."
