Chelsea fans will love Thiago Silva's response to Man United legend amid Cristiano Ronaldo claim

Chelsea star Thiago Silva has hit back at Paul Scholes after the Manchester United legend claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo would find it easy to play against him.

The two went head-to-head at the weekend as the points were shared at Stamford Bridge following a 1-1 draw.

Jadon Sancho gave the visitors the lead, before a Jorginho penalty handed the Blues a well-deserved equaliser.

Chelsea looked the most threatening towards the end of the game, but the hosts couldn't find a winner to help extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Silva was once again selected to start, whilst Ronaldo was surprisingly left on the bench by caretaker manager, Michael Carrick.

Many questioned that decision ahead of the game, including Scholes, who told Premier League Productions that it would have been easy for Ronaldo to play against the Chelsea star.

However, the veteran defender shut Ronaldo out following his introduction from the bench, as Scholes was made to look a bit of a fool, as emphasised by Silva himself on Instagram.

Responding to a fan page's caption that summed up what Scholes had said, Silva replied: “It is always easy , especially for those who have stopped playing!!"

In the centre-back's 10 league games so far this season, Chelsea have kept five clean sheets, and the Blues have conceded just five goals in that time.

Thomas Tuchel's side currently have the best defence in the division and even at 37, Silva has played a big part in that.

So, perhaps he's justified to hit back at criticism from someone who is long-since retired in a lighthearted way.
