Chelsea fans will love the vow Didier Drogba made during the Ballon d'Or ceremony

Didier Drogba has finally taken a photo with Kylian Mbappe after refusing one 10 years ago.

Mbappe was at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea's Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona in 2009, a game which Drogba played in.

The former Blues striker agreed through a mutual friend that he would take a picture with Mbappe, who was then 10-years-old, after the game.

But after the events of the match which saw Chelsea knocked out on away goals after a last minute Andres Iniesta goal, Drogba later refused.

The Ivorian was captured on camera swearing and labelling Tom Henning Ovrebo a "disgrace" after the final whistle.

However, Drogba presented Mbappe with a trophy for finishing sixth in Monday's Ballon D'Or awards, and revealed on stage that he was going to repay the debt owed to the Paris Saint-Germain forward.

"10 years ago after Chelsea vs Barcelona, a child came to me and wanted to take a picture," he said.

"That day I said no because of the disgraceful refereeing decisions. I learned that the child was Kylian Mbappe. I want to pay my debt now."

Drogba then asked the audience to stand up as he took a selfie of him posing with Mbappe, and fellow presenter and TV host Sandy Heribert.

The Ivorian also presented Liverpool's Alisson with the award for Best Goalkeeper at the prestigious event.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi won the overall Ballon D'Or award for the sixth time in his career, beating Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk who finished second.

Former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard finished 13th in the overall rankings, after helping the Blues to Europa League glory last season.
