Chelsea fans will love the moment spotted between Kai Havertz and Frank Lampard

Kai Havertz made his Premier League debut on Monday night after a big-money move to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen.

The 21-year-old didn't have his best night in the 3-1 win over Brighton at the AMEX Stadium, playing off the right.

However, the potential for the youngster to be a star player for the Blues is clearly there and it will just have to be harnessed.

That job could come down to Frank Lampard as the man in charge, and there was a moment in training today that Blues fans would love.

The pair were spotted in training this afternoon deep in conversation, seemingly going through tactics and different elements of the way Lampard wants his new star to play.

The Blues boss has previously praised the Germany international for the versatility that he has, with the ability to play in midfield or along the front line.

And Havertz admitted that he is looking forward to learning from a head coach who he watched while he was a youngster growing up in Germany.

"I watched many games of him as a kid," Havertz said. "He also liked the way I play as a midfielder – to go in the box, to score goals and make assists.

"I think that helps a lot to have a manager who played such a long time in the Premier League and national team.

"He can give me tips and I think he will help me a lot to become a better football player, a better midfield player, so I am very excited that he is my manager now.

"I loved him as a player, watching him as a kid. He was one of the biggest players in England of his time and for me of course Chelsea always had very big players that I know from watching the Premier League as a kid."
