Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes Chelsea are in a "pretty good place" at the moment after their 1-0 win against Ajax last night (Wednesday).
The Blues moved to the top of Group H in the Champions League after Michy Batshuayi scored the only goal of the game in Amsterdam, sealing a second win in three games for Frank Lampard's Chelsea side.
It was a sixth win in a row in all competitions for the Blues, who also currently sit fourth in the Premier League after a 1-0 win against Newcastle United on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.
And Hargreaves believes that Chelsea are getting a lot of things right at the moment, having overcome a difficult start after a 4-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
“Chelsea defensively, after that first game against Manchester United when they conceded four, they have been really good," Hargreaves said, speaking on BT Sport's highlights of the Champions League fixtures last night.

“I love [Fikayo] Tomori, he had another terrific game, and Chelsea are peaking.
“For a young team and a young manager in Frank Lampard, that is an unbelievable reaction.
“For these players, that’s why they celebrated like they did at the end. To have five academy graduates playing at a place like Ajax and to win, they deserve huge credit, everybody involved.
“Six games unbeaten, fourth in the Premier League and a huge performance against Ajax, I think Chelsea are in a pretty good place.”
Chelsea had luck on their side too at the Johan Cruyff Arena, with Ajax having a goal disallowed in the first half following a VAR review, as Quincy Promes was ruled to be offside when he tapped home from close range at the far post.
The hosts also hit the post, but Hargreaves said that luck is also important for any successful side.
“I don’t care how good a team you are, every team needs a bit of luck," he said.
“Even though it is fractional, he [Promes] is still offside."
