Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson believes Chelsea will replace Kepa Arrizabalaga, but not with a big name.
The Spanish goalkeeper hasn't done enough to convince Frank Lampard this season and reports suggest the Chelsea boss will replace him this summer.
Former full-back Johnson agrees, but he doesn't think the Blues will splash out again having spent just over £70million on Kepa.
Instead, he thinks a smaller name for a cheaper transfer fee might take Kepa's place.
“I don’t know if they will. Obviously Oblak is a top goalkeeper but what is he going to cost? I don’t think they can, imagine going to the board and asking for another £80million when they’ve spent £70million on the last goalkeeper," he told Football.London in an exclusive interview.
“I don’t think they’ll stick with Kepa, I think they’ll get someone in but I don’t think it will be one of those names. To get rid of him, because of the finances in it, you have to work with him.
"You can’t spend another £80million on a goalkeeper and, at the same time, nobody is going to pay you £50m for Kepa, so you’re stuck with him. You’ve got to work with what you’ve got.
“I think they’ll get somebody else in on a bargain deal to either get the best back out of him or even take his spot but they’re not going to be going out and getting another big name.”
Kepa was once again on the bench as Chelsea were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in the FA Cup final, having been dropped for the final day of the season against Wolves.
