Chelsea fans urge Frank Lampard to ring the changes with three youngsters handed debuts

Chelsea supporters have expressed their desire for Frank Lampard to hand a start to Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi against Grimsby Town.

The duo have been working away to regain full fitness and could be in contention to line up for the Blues in the Carabao Cup third round fixture.

After featuring for the under-23s in recent weeks, Frank Lampard has hinted that the pair are fit enough to feature against the League Two side.

He said: "They will be involved on Wednesday night, they’ll be involved. We certainly need to look at players that haven’t been playing as much against Grimsby.

“We’ll pay them due respect, but it’s certainly a case of getting minutes for players who haven’t been playing. Callum is on the road to recovery.  It was a long injury, so he needs game time and Reece similarly.

“There will be some different changes, but I expect the same level of performance (as against Liverpool) and I don’t want to lose the feeling of how we can be. It’s important we keep that.”

Supporters have also backed the likes of Kurt Zouma, Pedro, Christian Pulisic and Michy Batshuayi to be involved, alongside Billy Gilmour, Marc Guehi and Ian Maatsen.

If selected, it would be Gilmour's first start for the Blues, while Guehi and Maatsen would be making their first senior appearance for Frank Lampard's side.

Fans' predicted Chelsea team vs Grimsby:  Caballero: James, Zouma, Guehi, Maatsen; Barkley, Gilmour; Pedro, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi; Batshuayi
