Chelsea fans take Frank Lampard action as Roman Abramovich tipped to make sack decision

Chelsea fans are planning to show their support for head coach Frank Lampard.

According to The Athletic, the Blues are already exploring alternatives, while odds have been slashed on the Blues parting company with the club legend following the 3-1 home loss against Manchester City last weekend.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair who also revealed the four top contenders to replace the former midfielder at Stamford Bridge if such action is taken.

The favourite for the job was none other than Leicester City's Brendan Rodgers at 3/1.

Frank Lampard deserves time

Next is Thomas Tuchel, who is without a club since leaving Paris Saint-Germain last month, and reports claim he has decided he wants a project in the Premier League.

Julian Nagelsmann, Max Allegri, and former captain John Terry were also on the list as potential candidates to become the next Chelsea manager.

Just like in the past when any Chelsea manager has been sacked, any decision to relieve Lampard of his duties would be made by the club's board and owner Roman Abramovich.

With that said, @WeAre_TheShed has taken to Twitter to reveal that a number of Blues supporters have come together to create a banner to show Lampard has the backing of the Chelsea faithful.

A crowdfunder page has been set up to raise £999 to create the banner that could be unveiled in the FA Cup third-round tie at home to Morecambe this weekend, and at the time of writing, that target had already been surpassed.

A statement reads: "If Chelsea supporters were allowed in the stadium they would be giving Frank Lampard and Co. the backing they deserve.

"Whilst supporters are kept out of stadiums the narrative is more likely to be created from online accounts and media outlets, not those singing from the stands.

"Frank Lampard has the support of the real Chelsea faithful from all over the world and we want to show him that by creating this new, 15 meter large banner to be placed inside Stamford Bridge this weekend.

"We are in talks with the club and are hopeful that we will be able to have this hung in time for Sunday's FA Cup match against Morecombe but at the moment nothing is 100% set in stone at present.

"The group members have already raised the bulk of the money, a total of £890, and just need the remaining £110 to cover the cost. One we have reached our goal please do not donate any further. There will be other opportunities for you to get involved in the future. Any additional money will be donated to charity or our local food bank.

"Donating any amount big or small is greatly appreciated. We know times might be hard for some at this time so, if you do wish to contribute toward this display, even 10 or 20p goes a long way.

"The cost of the banner is so high for two reasons, the size and the fact we are paying for it to be produced in time for the weekend. As always we will post the full receipt online for transparency."
