Chelsea fans spot what Lionel Messi has done on Instagram after reported transfer decision

Could Lionel Messi leave Barcelona during the summer transfer window?

Recent reports would suggest that could very well be the case as Esporte Interativo claimed over the weekend that the Argentine has asked to leave following the latest Champions League humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich.

This comes just a month after reports surfaced claiming that Messi was growing frustrated with life at the Camp Nou.

Should Barcelona grant Messi's request then many clubs across Europe will be on high alert at the prospect of signing the world’s best player.

Although, not every club can afford the 33-year-old.

However, Chelsea, most likely could and that's despite sealing a double deal for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner as well as links to the likes of Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell.

With that said, Messi to Chelsea still seems highly unlikely.

Or is it?

Well, some eagle-eyed Chelsea supporters have spotted that the Argentine superstar is following the west London outfit on Instagram and it's prompted a big reaction on Reddit.

One fan commented by saying: "I would have him, if just for 1 season. Would be so fun to see him in pl."

Another said: "This. This does put a smile on my face."

Meanwhile, one fan doesn't think Chelsea need to sign Messi because they already have Christian Pulisic on the books: "We don’t need messi we have puligod."

Interestingly, Messi has kept tabs on Mason Mount over the years and has tipped the Blues midfielder for a bright future.

"Having watched him play he has the potential to be one of the best," he said.

Could Messi have a role in helping Mount fulfill his potential at Stamford Bridge?
