Chelsea fans spot moment from Callum Hudson-Odoi against Southampton that echoed Eden Hazard

Chelsea booked their place in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night with another penalty shootout win at Stamford Bridge, this time over Southampton.

Kai Havertz headed the Blues in front from a Hakim Ziyech corner just before half-time, only for Che Adams to pounce after Kepa Arrizabalaga could not hold onto a shot in the 47th minute.

Both teams had their chances to win the game in the remaining 40 minutes with Saul Niguez flashing a good chance wide for Chelsea while Will Smallbone should have done better with a header after coming on for the Saints.

So to penalties it went. Mason Mount followed up Theo Walcott's failed attempt with one of his own but a wild strike from Smallbone gave Reece James the chance to secure the win.

He did so with typical assuredness for the second round in a row. The quarter final draw will be held on Saturday during Soccer AM, on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League between 10am and 12pm.

The Southampton clash also saw Callum Hudson-Odoi start another game, and although it was not his best showing, some flashes of excellence still caught the eye.

Particularly his second-half link-up play with Kai Havertz, a moment that many fans compared to Eden Hazard.

Here is the best of what they had to say on the moment.

4Wheling said: "Hazard would of won us this game in full time tho."

@_Tukilee said: "Body movements and composure same as Hazard here."

@Kairackham said: "Please give him a run at LW, a serious run."
