Chelsea fans spot FIVE mistakes on Mauricio Pochettino's tactics board in John Terry snap

Chelsea fans have pointed out five errors committed by new manager Mauricio Pochettino as he was welcomed to the club by John Terry.

The former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain man was confirmed as the Blues’ new manager earlier this summer. He becomes the club’s permanent replacement for Graham Potter.

He did not officially start work for the West London club until this week, however. Pochettino has now had the first chance to meet his new players at the club’s Cobham Training Ground, whilst he also met a club icon in the form of Terry, who has returned to work with the club.

Following a spell with recently-relegated Leicester, the former defender has returned to Chelsea to work with the club’s academy. Taking to Twitter confirming the news, he wrote: “I’m delighted to be back Home working in the Academy. @ChelseaFC”

He then shared a snap of himself alongside new manager Pochettino with the caption: “Great to see the Gaffer @pochettino @chelseafc Great manager and a great man. Good Luck and welcome. We would have been a great CB partnership.”

Despite the picture being hailed by Chelsea fans, it appeared there were a series of errors on a tactics board in the background. One fan on social media wrote: "That tactics board would need some revamping!"

"This was taken before the transfers because Mount / Mendy and some others are on the training board,” another claimed.

One fan suggested Pochettino might not actually have used the board having only been at the club a matter of days. They said: "He hasn’t been at Cobham for long, it is recent content. That board hasn’t been touched since last season I bet."

Indeed, it appeared the board was littered with errors. The likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante both featured.

The pair are no longer at the club after completing respective transfers to Saudi clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad earlier this year. Edouard Mendy’s name was also on the board but he too has joined his former Chelsea teammates in Saudi Arabia with a move to Al-Ahli.

There were also a couple more surprise names to feature. Academy graduate Mason Mount’s name was still present but Pochettino will not be able to call on his services following his £55m switch to Manchester United earlier this summer.

Elsewhere, Mateo Kovacic is also present but he too has left Chelsea this summer after joining Premier League rivals Manchester City. The Croatian became Pep Guardiola’s first signing of the summer after winning the treble last term.

Chelsea have been busy in the transfer market in the meantime. Christopher Nkunku has arrived from German side RB Leipzig, whilst fellow forward Nicolas Jackson has been recruited from Villarreal.
